Committed to advance sustainable healthcare

People's health is a foundation for a healthy and prosperous society. Improving health and well-being for all is of absolute importance for a sustainable future where people can thrive. High-quality healthcare and emergency services are vital for society not only to preserve and promote the population’s health and quality of life, but also to ensure economic growth and optimal use of healthcare resources.

Four ways to advance sustainable healthcare

Falck’s purpose is to advance sustainable healthcare to meet people’s changing needs. We wish to improve patients’ quality of life, protect the climate and work smarter. This means taking a different look at patients and transforming the way we deliver our services. For example, if we can treat people at home instead of driving them to the hospital, it will improve their wellbeing and at the same time reduce carbon emissions. We will do it in four parallel tracks.

As an example, we are transitioning our fleet to electrical vehicles, testing health drones that can replace our fleet services, and investigating technologies to prevent hospitalisations and expand homecare solutions.

Our sustainability response

Climate changes and global health are highly interlinked, as climate change is the single biggest health threat, according to WHO. Currently, growing demand for healthcare outweighs the supply of healthcare professionals and healthcare systems are under pressure. Looking ahead, WHO predicts a shortage of 10 million healthcare workers by 2030.

That is why we are taking a significant step up on our sustainability journey. We have made four sustainability responses within areas where we can have the greatest impact on society and backed them up with targets and KPIs across our business.

We strive to advance sustainable healthcare while reducing our climate impact and at the same time secure a healthy and diverse workplace based on trust.
